Australian homes lead the world in solar. But businesses are falling behind

A report from the Institute for Energy Economics and Financial Analysis (IEEFA) finds Australia leads the world in per capita residential rooftop solar installations with 22GW deployed as of December 2025, while commercial and industrial sectors have only installed 5.6GW of rooftop solar despite consuming more electricity than households.
